Rio's Roost Parrot Rescue Inc. is an out of home 501(c)3 non-profit parrot rescue in Tallahassee, Florida dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and permanent placement of companion parrots, as well as the education of the broader community. We seek to be forward, understanding, and non-judgemental when taking in your feathered friends.

Rio's Roost takes in birds of all shapes and sizes. We provide sanctuary for our permanent residents to spread their wings and become part of our tight-knit avian family, and give top-notch care to those seeking a placement elsewhere.

Above all else, Rio's Roost exists to provide a safe and enriching facility for birds in search of forever homes. We seek to work with both the birds and their prospective and previous owners to ensure both people and parrot alike feel comfortable, cared for, and well-assured in their decision to work alongside us.

Have a feathered friend in need of a home or know of someone who does? Rio's Roost and our network of fosters are happy to accept your bird free of judgement and provide them with a safe, enriching environment while they search for their forever home.

Not wanting to buy or breed, but happy to adopt a bird in need? Sign up to foster or adopt one of our many beautiful available parrots, or reach out via email or Facebook messenger for a finger in the right direction.

Educational Opportunities
Interested in learning about parrots, their care, and interacting with a variety of ambassador birds? Rio's Roost allows students and teachers alike to get up close and personal with a handful of rescue birds whilst learning about their backgrounds, importance in nature, and care in captivity.
